Chery unveils new strategy at 2024 International Business Conference

Chery, a leading Chinese automotive brand, held the 2024 Chery International Business Conference at Wuhu, China. Approximately 3,000 key industry figures from 80 countries attended the event, where Chery unveiled its new strategy, marking its departure from predatory pricing practices and instead prioritizing high-quality products to boost technological advancements, foster healthy competition, and promote the well-being of the automotive sector.

Chery International BG CEO, Zhu Shaodong delivered a keynote speech, attributing Chery’s advanced position in the global automotive market to its focus on a customer-centric approach and implementation of a worldwide market adaptability development strategy. He also highlighted its ongoing global transition towards carbon neutrality and the important role of new energy vehicles in introducing transformative changes within the automotive industry.

The conference also spotlighted Chery’s efforts towards its new energy strategy and collaborative initiatives with international partners, aimed at shaping the future of sustainable mobility. Chery International Executive Vice President, Zhang Shengshan delivered a presentation on the company’s public welfare and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices in 2023, including the launch of an international public welfare fund, a $6 million dollar donation to UNICEF’s global education projects, and an MoU with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (ICUN) to explore innovative approaches for ecological protection and restoration in forests, wetlands, and oceans.

Last year, Chery’s exports reached 937,000 vehicles, making it China's top exported automotive brand and earning the trust of more than 13 million customers worldwide. It utilizes big data and artificial intelligence technology to analyze market trends and accurately track changes in consumer preferences. It currently operates eight major R&D centers, strategically located in Wuhu, Shanghai, North America, South America, Europe, and other locations.
